Working Confidently With Body Image

  • OTR Bristol 8-10 West Street Bristol BS2 0BH United Kingdom (map)

A training to give professionals greater confidence talking about and working with young peoples' relationship to body image. The training will provide a discussion around the importance of the topic, an awareness of the societal forces working to influence idealised body images, ways to promote a positive and empowering relationship to body image (e.g. language to use), and a couple of practical activities to do with young people that help them reflect on their own relationship to body image.

By the end participants will:

  • Understand how body image has impacted us throughout history
  • Be empowered to feel more confident in the bodies we are in and be able to empower the young people they work with
  • Have the skills to combat negative feelings towards our bodies
  • Have ideas how you can fight back against the ideals and help reflect a more diverse image of how bodies should be

Our training is particularly well placed for individuals and teams who work directly with young people.
